The Superwinch EPi9.0S Series Master Winch is designed to provide both power and performance for 4x4s and other heavy vehicles through its blend of high efficiency drawing power and component parts that lighten the load your vehicle carries. Its 4.6 hp, 12-volt DC series wound motor easily attaches to, and is powered by, your primary car battery or an auxiliary installed battery (recommended in cases of heavy winch use). The motor features a 9,000 LB line pull rating, both load in and load out drum rotation for mechanized movement of winch rope, a full metal 3-stage planetary gear box and an accessible lift and turn freespooling clutch allowing users to quickly disengage the motor and manually draw out as much winch rope as needed. View larger. | The winch utilizes a distinct 80-foot length of high performance blue Dyneema 3/8-inch synthetic rope, with a 10-foot rock guard sleeve, providing strength and durability without compromising the overall weight of the unit. This tough, specially-made winch rope is metal-free and so will never rust in wet weather or shed painful splinters and is significantly lighter than comparable metal winch cable, reducing the overall weight of your winch by as much as 40 pounds. It connects easily to the clevis pin and hook via a stainless steel thimble and is protected from wear during angled pulls as it slides along the included heavy duty anodized aluminum hawse carrying the Superwinch seal. My husband really reviewed winches for our new wrangler. This one for the price is great. We had to remove our bumper and put on a winch support but if we can do it at 62 most everyone else should be able to handle it. Installing the winch was easy. We also purchased the quick disconnects so it is not attached to the battery except when we need it. By doing it the way we did we were able to save at least a 3rd of the cost.

Two screws missing when box arrived. Having trouble with instalation of the synth. rope. You are supposed to fit it through a hole in the drum but it just wont go through. The end of the rope has a rubber tip but it came of when I pulled it on the other end of the hole and it tore off. I wrote superwinch support to see if they can help.
